Yo yo yo. This week was a good one. So there was a lot going on this week which was good and bad. We weren't able to do as much in our area as I would have liked to but we were able to go out of town quite a bit.
So here is a short account of this week... So Tuesday was a pretty normal Tuesday. We usually do about 4-5 hours of service and then we have a Book of Mormon class held by the branch Tuesday night. Brother Sturtevant teaches the class and it is always so good. These past two weeks we have gone over Jacob 5 and I have learned so much! I talked to him and thanked him for how well he does and asked him how long he puts into the lessons and he said around 10 hours. It's just super good.
Anyway, Wednesday we did an exchange in the morning so I went up to north bend with elder Fowers who is one of the zone leaders. It was a pretty good day, I had my new district leader training and I Skyped in to Eugene with elder Martin (a new district leader in north bend) so that was pretty good. We hung out a little with elder Martin and his comp elder batt and it was super tight and then we did some finding and had some lessons and it just went really well.
Thursday was by far the best day of the week. Thursday was MLC which is leadership training and so we got to go to Eugene to sit through a 5 hour conference on being leadership of the mission and all that stuff. Since I'm in the coos bay zone, it was quite a drive in to town so all of us drove in one car. It was the two zone leaders (elder hatch and elder Fowers), two other district leaders (elder Martin and elder Redding) and myself. Those rides to and from Eugene were the funniest rides ever. I'm the newest person in the car so they were telling me a bunch of stuff about the mission and all that and it was so funny. MLC it's self was good too, we talked a lot about discipline and a lot about the atonement. A lot of good stuff I needed to hear. So that entire day was taken up by that trip and it was such a day of relief. But then that night I got back to Bandon and I realized how much work I had too do here lol. I prepared my district meeting lesson which was on prayer and I think it went pretty well. I learned a lot about prayer just from preparing that talk and I think that my district learned a little from it. And OF COURSE the assistants came to my district meeting of all the ones in the mission but luckily I prepared it pretty well.
Saturday we went down to port Orford and did a bunch of contacting down there so that was good but it took a lot of time away from our area.
So that is a summary of this week, I learned a lot this week and I got to experience some new stuff. There have definitely been some struggles this transfer though. The area is still going slow, I want to say mostly because we haven't had as much time as we would have liked to be here and work but we have had some good signs. We found a few potentials and we have been having part member lessons and one of the families is way awesome!
It is super tough for me still, my comp isn't super motivated and his driving is killing me. My patience is seriously drained. Every time he drives I just close my eyes so I don't get frustrated or fear for my life.
But yeah there is a lot of good! lol. Things get tough and I'm not sure why president Russell put me in this situation but maybe I'll find out sooner or later. Another thing is I have started to see how even with how much work we do, you can just feel so unproductive everyday because no one wants to talk to you, so that can be pretty rough. Well anyway the moral of this weeks story is tough times call for tough people so I better start getting tough.... Anyway even though my comp is an awful driver the church is still true.
